is originally from Los Altos, California. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego where she received a BA and BS degree in 1981. Dr. Wieand received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 1985.

Dr. Wieand specializes in fitting all types of contact lenses. She is certified in Accelerated Orthokeratology (Ortho-K), a non-surgical alternative to refractive surgery. She enjoys challenging contact lens fitting such as patients with keratoconus, bifocal contact lenses, astigmatism, and post refractive irregular corneas. In addition she is experienced in refractive surgery co-management, treatment and management of ocular diseases such as dry eye syndrome, and primary care optometry.
